2006: DRAGONBOARD US submitted standard 9/16" and 11/16' DRAGONBOARD construction panels to Southwest Research Institute's Fire Technology Department for additional testing. These tests are designed to measure Floor/Ceiling fire protection as required by New York City's Housing Preservation Dept. Tests require a 2-Hour fire separation over wood framing (wood is common in many of NYC's historic and non-historic edifices.DRAGONBOARD exceeded the 2 hour requirement, withstanding temperature exceeding 1850 degrees F.
2005: DRAGONBOARD US became the only Magnesium Oxide construction panel to pass Underwriter Laboratory's tests for 1 1/2, 2 and 3 hour fire separation.
